Oregon Food Bank Proceeds Night
At Amalfi's Italian Restaurant

Tuesday Oct. 16, 2012 (Portland, OR.) - Join Amalfi's Italian Restaurant and the Oregon Food Bank on Monday, November 12th, 2012 beginning at 5 pm for a fun night of award winning pizza, spirits, and Italian fare. Amalfi's restaurant, located on 4703 NE Fremont St, is partnering with the Oregon Food Bank in an effort to raise hunger awareness and prevent hunger in our community.

"Our mission is to be a giving member of the Portland community and to use our restaurant to enrich the neighborhood," said Kiauna Floyd, third generation Amalfi's owner. "We chose to partner with the Oregon Food Bank because together we can help bring attention to the root causes of hunger, and donate proceeds that will purchase food for those in need."

Keeping a strong sense of community is important to Amalfi's, they have held proceed nights for other organizations, but this will be the first hosted event with a non-profit. All proceeds from food sales will be donated to the Oregon Food Bank.

Amalfi's was founded in 1959 by Jack and Diane Baker who were the first to serve pizza in the Portland area. With over 50 years in business Amalfi's has been recognized as an institution to the city of Portland, and sustained a successful reputation for excellent food and courteous service. Additionally, Amalfi's has won the reader's choice award for "Best Pizza" in Portland by Portland Monthly magazine, "Happy Hour Of The Year" by the Portland Happy Hour Guide book, and "Best Italian" in Portland from City Search.
